Time for a realization...

Every medical student gets two types of feelings. The first - the student compares his progress (how much studying have I done?, how much more do I need to study?, why has he reviewed so many lecture notes and I havent?) with his peers. Due to this, second kind of feeling arises and the student gets anxious, nervous, stressed when it comes to studying, interacting with other peers and even ignoring some daily habits that ONE SHOULD NOT IGNORE like exercise, eating properly and unknowingly having poor communication skills with friends and family.

Well, this happened to me too. I was not stressed because as you know I never get stressed in most of the situations but the second did happen especially with the family and friends. Today, I would like to apologize to everyone for my mistake.

Since last few weeks, I was busy preparing for my unified quiz. It went well and I did ok in them. I l was able to learn my strengths and my weaknesses. Today, I went to a medical seminar conducted by Lord Walton of Detchant. He had been the Dean of the Newcastle University, has a library named after him and was Knighted by the Queen about 15 years ago. Even at the age of 80+ he had a great charisma towards medical students. Lord Walton in his lecture series emphasized on three things - Knowledge, Skills and attitude. He also told the medical students that the most important skill(s) that doctors should have are the caring nature, compassion towards their patient and communication. He then stressed about the importance of physical examination and looking the .....(you wont be interested). The point is --> I have a direction!

Time to eat and then study (midterms are in one week - Oct 3-9)! I have made this beautiful chicken salad with almost every ingredients and vegetables I can find in my apartment for dinner. I will make sure I write often on this so keep on checking once a week. You might find some great pictures next week.
